Teaching Philosophy

Learning music not only cultivates character but also helps children develop focus and a resilient “Athlete’s Spirit.” Through joyful learning, I aim to unlock each child’s limitless potential and guide them toward becoming independent learners. This way, they can face challenges in music and future studies with a positive and proactive attitude, making music an essential part of their lives.

Piano Lesson

The piano is a great instrument for beginners, as its fixed keys and pitches make it easier to start learning.

In addition to mastering the keyboard and reading sheet music, I emphasize the importance of correct hand posture. A proper hand position allows for effortless and natural musical expression while preventing repetitive strain injuries from prolonged practice.

My piano lessons include basic music theory, ear training, and focus on developing piano techniques tailored to each student's preferences and skill level.

Students will have the opportunity to learn both classical and pop music pieces, all within a safe and supportive learning environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I enroll in piano lessons if I don’t have a piano at home?
Yes, for younger beginners, it is possible to start learning with lessons focused on basic music theory and introductory skills. However, it is highly recommended to purchase/rent a piano or digital piano after a few lessons to ensure consistent practice.

2. Can beginners start with a digital piano?
Yes, beginners can start with a basic 88-key digital piano, especially if budget, space, or uncertainty about long-term learning is a concern. However, there are differences between digital pianos and acoustic pianos, particularly in terms of sound quality and dynamic expression. Acoustic pianos provide richer tone colors and better support for finger strength development, which is beneficial for learners.

3. Can I just learn pop songs without studying classical music?
For beginners with no prior experience, learning pop songs can be challenging. Whether it’s piano or another instrument, it’s better to have a long-term goal and progress step by step, rather than treating it as a short-term crash course. Building a solid foundation is crucial. In lessons, the teacher will work with students to discuss their interests and set achievable goals, including exploring pop music.

4. Do parents need to be involved in their children's piano lessons?

Yes, parental involvement is recommended. Learning an instrument requires effort from three parties. During lessons, the teacher provides guidance and instruction, but since lesson time is limited, parents are encouraged to guide their children and create a musical environment at home. This approach ensures more efficient and effective learning.
